about

The solo music was written in 1958 by Mr. Tong-Xiang Ren, a famous suona player from Shanghai. He was inspired by the beautiful lakes and vivid landscapes and used a Henan folk tune as the basis for this inspirational melody. The piece is in 3 parts, a happy into leads into a nostalgic slow part reminiscing about difficult times in the country, concluding with a joyous allegro finale.
